The Sketchy Life of Arnold Prieto

Arnold Prieto was executed by the state of Texas tonight for his part in a vicious triple murder which took place during a home robbery in 1993. Prieto and two other men were found guilty of stabbing three senior citizens to death with a screwdriver then ransacking the house in search of money and goods.

While on death row, Prieto gained quite a reputation as a jailhouse artist. His impressive sketches included portraits of Jesus, Yoda, and a random elephant.

Because Texas doesn’t allow special last meals, Prieto was given the same food as others in his prison unit. For his last meal, Prieto was served barbequed chopped beef, pinto beans, and carrots, with the usual choice of tea, punch, or water to drink.

  1. These never make it to our news up in Minnesota. I Wonder why it isn't mentioned. Is it mentioned in advance in the state whichever is performing the execution? Again, curious.

  2. Sometimes the last meal menu is released to the press, and sometimes it isn't. I have contacts at many of the correctional facilities, and the people there are kind enough to share the information with me.
