A Tale of Two Patties

When death row inmates can't or won't choose a last meal, the results are obvious--patty-monium ensues. Yesterday, Gustavo Garcia received chicken patties before he was executed in Texas, which doesn't allow special last meal requests. Tonight, Travis Hittson was executed by the state of Georgia and he chose not to exercise his freedom to order a last meal. In return, he received what everyone else in his prison unit was eating for dinner: meatloaf patties, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, red beans, cornbread, bread pudding, and an orange beverage.
