Troy Clark was executed by the state of Texas last night for a particularly brutal murder. In 1998, Clark killed a friend of his girlfriend by tasing her with a stun gun, beating her in the head with a wooden board, then drowning her in a bathtub. This was all supposedly to keep the girl from talking to the wrong people about Clark's drug dealings, although Clark denied that claim and never admitted to the killing.
"I’m not the one that killed Christina, so whatever makes y'all happy,"
Clark said in his final statement. "I love y'all. I’ll see you on the other
side."
Since Texas no longer allows special last meal requests, Clark was served the same food as others in his unit. For his last meal, Clark had pepper steak, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, pinto beans, cornbread, black-eyed peas, pork noodle casserole, and carrot cake, with a choice of water, tea, or punch to drink.
