Acker earned his death sentence for strangling his girlfriend then pushing her out of a moving car, causing her death. Acker was irked because he believed his girlfriend was shacking up with a club bouncer named Calico.
I kid you not. We can't make this stuff up.
Texas no longer allows special last meal requests, so Acker was served the same food as others in his unit. For his last meal, Daniel Acker had a chicken patty, steamed rice, country gravy, black beans, corn bread, chili mac, corn, and pinto beans, with a choice of tea, punch, or water to drink.
