Robert Moormann, sentenced to death for killing and dismembering his adoptive mother, was executed today by the state of Arizona. Defense attorneys argued at various times that Moormann was insane or mentally deficient, but one state psychiatrist had a different opinion, saying, "This man was born condemned. Mr. Moormann may be the worst piece of protoplasm you'll ever see."
For his last meal, Moormann requested a double hamburger, French fries, two beef burritos, two containers of rocky road ice cream, and three RC colas.
