Steak & Twizzlers for Edwin Turner

I've been curious to see what convicted killer Edwin Turner would choose for his last meal. It's been widely reported that after a string of convenience store robberies that left two men dead, Turner and his partner-in-crime went home and ate shrimp and cinnamon rolls before bed. Anyone who would combine those two menu items has a "creative" palate, to say the least.

Turner, who was executed by lethal injection in Mississippi today, actually assembled a fairly nice combination of foods for his final meal. He requested a porterhouse steak (medium rare), fried shrimp with cocktail sauce, Texas toast, a salad with Russian dressing, iced tea--and a pack of red Twizzlers.

At least he chose red Twizzlers, which is the proper accompaniment for steak. Black Twizzlers pair well with chicken or pork dishes and--as all sophisticated diners know--only a heathen would order Twizzlers with seafood, no matter what the color.
